2.3.1 ranchers, anglers, and beavers

                                     1. Exploratory

Probe basic facts and knowledge found in the video and article. (What research evidence supports _________?Type up several facts and basic knowledge from the video & article. Relate this to what you find in other resources, prior activities for stronger scores.))

Our ancestors did not think of the outcome that the land would endure when everyone was a farmer and building railroads. It wasn't only humans though, there were also natural wildfires and periods of droughts. Because of the ignorance in what the future would hold, the United States has decreased in the amount of small ponds, water ways, and even large lakes that we have. There are luckily many land management sources resolving this issue and restoring the natural way ways.

2. Diagnostic

Probe motives or causes. (Why?(Tell your reader why this occurs. Explain the causes in detail.))

It is amazing that the answer to fix nature is nature! By controlling the herd grazing season and releasing beavers into areas where they are needed, we are significantly seeing the water levels raise

3. Cause and Effect

Causal relationships between ideas, actions, or events. (If __________ occurs, what happens?)

Before the 1930s until about the 1950s the United states was filled with tall grassland areas and was abundant in water holes, and then people started to get greedy and claim the land. Once everyone came over to the states and their families grew, obviously everyone was on the journey for the Great American Dream. With that being said, there was a ridiculous amount of nature destruction from all of the grazing and modern development..

But researchers have found ways to restore the land. Beavers are released into small steam and pond areas. The Beavers dams store water and re-wet flood plains, and that causes the water levels to slowly rise since it is now trapped.

The reason that they are regulating the grazing season is to give the grass time to grow back from the  previous graze. Back in the old days they did not have a set time, but now we have learned that tracking over and over again during the "hot" times is what was so damaging.

The more water in the area, means there will be more vegetation, which means more animals.

4. Priority

Seek to identify the most important issue. (What is the most important issue?)

The issue is that the land use to be beautiful, blue, and green... We are seeing a lot of brown and dirt lately.

5. Application

Probe for relationships and connect theory to practice. (How does this apply to you? How is this related to culture as we have studied so far?)

This applies to me because I honestly have passed by a large cow production before and I felt bad for the cows because of how little of a space they had to roam.. however they are literally living there waiting to die and be eaten.. so... as sad as it is I now understand why they are so confined, it is to save the land.

6. Critical

Analyze how this challenges your thinking/assumptions. (How did this change your thinking? Did it? Why?)

Beavers are so cool, and the fact nature fixes nature is astonishing. I had never really thought about this issue before, because I am from Alabama and everything is green and if you stick your finger in the dirt it will come back up wet. The fact that they can take places that look like the grass has vanished and if the wind were to blow you would see a sand storm... to completely habitable environment again.
